Information used for a handover

Members provide account, profile and vehicle information. When Give or Find is active, DropIn uses the phone’s location to find a practical nearby match and update the live handover.

Number plates and precise live locations are not public. They are revealed only to the two people in an accepted match. Phone contact is shared only when the departing member allows a call.

Website analytics

DropIn uses first-party operational analytics to count visits and understand aggregate activity such as access requests, matches and completed handovers. These reports are available only in the protected DropIn administration service.

DropIn also uses Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager on the public production website. Google receives anonymous website usage such as the public page path, device category, broad traffic source and engagement. DropIn does not intentionally send Google names, email addresses, phone numbers, passcodes, number plates or precise GPS coordinates.

Location and retention

Live location is used during an active Give, Find or accepted handover. DropIn does not publish a member’s precise location and does not present a public history of precise handover coordinates.

Security and operational records are retained only as needed to operate, protect and improve the service. A member can sign out of active sessions, update account details or request account deletion from the Profile area.

Your choices

• You can use the public guides without creating a member account.
• You can deny location permission when you are not giving or finding a park.
• You can use browser privacy controls to restrict analytics cookies.
• You can stop an active parking search or handover from within DropIn.
